 Saffron belongs to the iris family, commonly known as the saffron crocus, saffron was mentioned as a medical treatment for coughs, colds, stomach ailments, insomnia, uterine bleeding, scarlet fever, heart trouble, and flatulence.

COCONUT BARFI RECIPE - M.M.Mithaiwala


Simple & Sweet in 30 min Ready to Eat!!


Ingredients:
       
       225 gms Khoya
       225 gms coconut (dry and ground)
       1 tsp cardamom seeds (ground)
       1 tbsp ghee
       2 1/2 cups sugar
       2 cups water
       1/2 tsp almonds (grated)
       1/2 tsp pistachios (grated)


How to make coconut burfi:
  • Mix khoya and coconut and fry them lightly with ghee on a low heat.
  • Add cardamom and mix well.
  • Prepare one-string syrup by dissolving sugar in the water.
  • Now stir the coconut mixture into the syrup.
  • Grease the plate and spread the grated nuts on it.
  • Spread the prepared evenly over the plate and allow it to cool.
  • Now with the knife, cut it into desired shapes.
  • Turn them over so that nuts covered part appears on the top.
  • Nariyal ki burfi is ready to be served.

Benefits of Strawberry - M.M.Mithaiwala

Excellent Skin Cleanser:
   ·   Strawberry has great cleansing properties.

   ·   Strawberry extracts are often used as an ingredient in skin cleansers,
       face washes, refreshing bubble baths and rejuvenating face masks as they        contain vitamin C, salicylic acid, antioxidants and exfoliants.
 Improves Complexion:
·   Strawberry juice has skin lightening properties. It is effective in removing
    age spots and freckles.
·   You can squeeze the fruit to extract its juice and place it in a small cup.
·   Apply the juice all over your face with a cotton ball and rinse off with
    lukewarm water after 10 to 15 minutes to get a glowing complexion.
Skin Toner:
·    Strawberries can be used as a skin toner.
·    Grind them to extract the juice. Mix two teaspoons of this juice with 50 ml of rose water and refrigerate it.
·    You can use it instead of your regular skin toner to achieve wrinkle free, blemish free and younger looking skin. This juice can be stored up to 10 days.
Skin Repair:
·    Vitamin C in strawberries enables the body to grow and repair its tissues as it is involved in making collagen.
·    Collagen is water soluble and this vitamin cannot be stored in the body and has to be provided from food sources. A cup of strawberry provides 100% of Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C that plays a vital role in repairing skin damage.
Promotes Silky and Shiny Hair:
·    Strawberries can add extra shine to your hair.
·    Mash 7 to 8 ripe strawberries and add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Mix it with the strawberry mash to make a smooth paste. Apply it over your hair and scalp and cover it with shower cap for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
·    Rinse your hair and shampoo as usual. This will act as a natural conditioner to give you instant natural shiny hair.

Gudipadwa Special Mango Shrikhand Recipe - MMMithaiwala


Mausam hai kabhi garam toh kabhi thand, Gudipadwa ke offer hogaye shuru lena maat bhulna MM's se shrikhand!!
 


Ingredients  
Yogurt - 3 cups (should not be sour) 
Powdered sugar - 1/4 -1/2 cup or as required 
Pistachio -2 tbsp 
Almonds - 4 
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp 
Saffron -10 strands 
Warm milk -1 tbsp 
Mango Puree - 1 cup (Mango should be sweet) 
Few mango bits
Pistachio and almonds


Preparation
Place yogurt in a muslin cloth and hang it overnight or for 6-7 hours to drain out the whey from the yogurt.
Tie it and place it inside the refrigerator otherwise the yogurt will become sour.
Soak pistachio and almonds in hot water for 10 minutes. Remove the skin and chop it into small pieces.
Soak saffron in warm milk.

Method
Using a spatula, mix the hung yogurt with powdered sugar nicely for 5-6 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.

Now add the saffron soaked in milk, half of the chopped pistachio and almonds, mango puree, cardamom powder and mix well.

Keep it in the fridge for an hour. Garnish with chopped pistachio, almonds and mango pieces. This dessert should be served chilled.
